We are looking for an Associate to join our Fund Accounting team who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys tackling complex challenges. What will you do?

  • Independently complete the daily cash and position reconciliations, which includes:
    • Cash and trade journals
    • Identify and actively resolve trade issues with traders, prime brokers and operations team
  • Interact with prime brokers and administrators on daily basis to assist in break resolution
  • Perform key month-end reporting tasks such as: maintaining accurate record of general ledgers, analysis for expense accruals, cash, position and profit/loss reconciliations, management and performance fee calculation, investor profit and loss allocations, etc.
  • Identify exceptions and problems affecting accounting records and communicate to manager, and assist in resolution
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of annual financial statements in accordance to accounting standards and fund documents
  • Ensure the ongoing integrity and completeness of Polar’s systems
  • Other bookkeeping and accounting related duties
  • Assist with ad-hoc tasks as needed

Who are you?

  • University undergraduate degree

  • Keen interest in the financial industry and eager to learn all things finance

  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset

  • Ability to work under pressure, work independently and prioritize competing objectives

  • Excellent data entry skills

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Highly motivated, eager to learn new tasks and embrace responsibility

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets (VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS and pivot tables)

  • Familiarity with VBA and SQL are advantages
