Aapo Timonen has extensive work experience in the field of IT and business management. Aapo started their career at Eterra in 1999, where they served in various roles such as System Specialist, Project Manager, Pre-Sales Consultant, and Team Leader. Aapo then joined Nokia in 2002 and held positions as IT Manager and IT Product Manager, responsible for managing global R&D IT services and teams. Aapo also served as Senior IT Manager at Microsoft, where they played a crucial role in the Nokia-Microsoft transition program. In 2015, Aapo worked as a Freelancer, focusing on IT consultancy and triathlon training. Aapo then joined Adecco Finland Oy as a Business Continuity Consultant in early 2016. Currently, Aapo is working at Polar Electro Oy, first as Manager, Resourcing and Partnering, then as Manager, Service Continuity and Quality. Aapo later became Vice President, Digital Systems and Solutions, and currently serves as CIO & Vice President Support Services.
Aapo Timonen completed their BSc in IT / Telecommunications from Jyväskylä Institute of Technology from 1995 to 1999. Aapo also pursued studies in IT / Telecommunications at Swansea University from 1997 to 1998. In addition, they obtained various certifications including the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in December 2014, Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance in February 2013, and ITIL V3 Foundation (institution unspecified) in September 2007.
