Mats Udén

Mats Udén serves as the Head of Intellectual Property at Polestar, overseeing global IP strategy and operations, including copyright, design, patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. Since February 2022, Mats has expanded an IP function from one to four full-time equivalents and has provided extensive legal counsel across various departments. Prior to Polestar, Mats held positions in leading companies such as Volvo Cars as Senior IP Counsel for EMEA and Globe Group Europe as General Counsel EMEA & US and VP Global IP. Mats has a strong background in developing IP functions and strategies, negotiating commercial agreements, and providing legal counsel on M&A and R&D projects. Mats also founded Udén IP Strategy & Management AB, advising clients on IP asset management, and served as CEO of Flue Gas Recovery Sweden AB. An LLM graduate from Lund University, Mats has accumulated extensive experience since starting in IP law at Wallengren & Partners.
