Mark Greenhalgh

Head Of Business Change - Digital Forensics Programme at Police Digital Service

Mark Greenhalgh has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and sectors. Mark began their career as a Royal Air Force Engineer in 1995 before transitioning to various roles within the police force. Mark served as a Police Constable and Sergeant from 1999 to 2006, during which they gained experience in different areas of policing. Mark's roles within the police force included being a Police Inspector and a Police Chief Inspector from 2006 to 2017. During this time, they also served as a Hostage and Crisis Negotiator and as a Superintendent for Specialist Operations. In 2017, Mark joined the National Police Chiefs' Council as the Head of Business Change and as a Tactical Lead for the Digital Forensics Portfolio. Mark also took on the role of Staff Officer for the NPCC Sex Working Portfolio, where they were responsible for delivering the Police National position and working with academics to support the National Vulnerability Plan. Mark has also worked as a Volunteer for several organizations, including the Centre for the Study of Missing Persons and Missing People, where they provided advisory support. In 2019, they worked as a Volunteer Guest Lecturer and Police Advisor for the University of Portsmouth. In 2019, Mark also served as a CBRN Tactical Commander for Op Isobar at the NATO Summit. Most recently, they have held positions at the Police Digital Service and Locate International, where they were a Head of Business Change and a Trustee, respectively. Mark's work experience showcases their expertise in law enforcement, strategic leadership, crisis management, and research coordination.

Mark Greenhalgh completed their education in a variety of fields. Mark obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Criminal Psychology & Police Leadership from the University of Portsmouth in 2019. In 2010, they earned a Level 5 Diploma in Police Management & Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute. Mark also holds a Diploma in Forensic Psychology & Criminal Profiling from the Forensic Academy, which they completed in 2006. Additionally, they have acquired numerous certifications and qualifications in areas such as cyber digital investigation, project and program management, executive health and safety, and various policing roles.
