Marie Carsten Pedersen has a diverse work experience in journalism, writing, editing, and illustration. Marie started their career as a freelance illustrator in 1999, working for various publishers, magazines, books, and organizations. From 2003 to 2006, they worked as a journalist at Mediefabrikken Content Providing, initially as a full-time intern and later as a freelancer. In 2006, they became a campaign manager at Axel Film for an awareness campaign on human trafficking. From 2007 to 2008, Marie worked at Aller Press/Bazar Magazine as a writer and as the editor-in-chief of Oestrogen.dk. Marie then joined Politiken as a journalist and freelance writer, primarily contributing to iBYEN.dk, Politiken Kultur, and Politiken FILM. Marie continued their studies at the same institution and completed their Master of Arts/Cand. Mag. in Modern Culture and Cultural Communication/Literature in 2006.
