Jan Disbergen

Jan Disbergen joined Polyganics as COO in 2013. Jan leads the operations of Polyganics, with particular focus on product development and manufacturing. With an excellent track record in advancing new product ideas to fruition, Jan takes an analytical approach to managing and optimising operational processes including the transferal and scaling up of products.

Jan has broad operational experience in high tech corporations. Before Polyganics, he worked at Philips Electronics as Operation Manager for quartz and special glass products used for high-end applications, and as Lean Transformation Leader. In his latter role he implemented changes to refine daily operational processes which resulted in an increase in manufacturing capacity and improved efficiency.

Jan’s career originated in a different division of Philips Electronics, where he worked in the development and pilot production of DVD and Blu-ray discs. Following this, he joined the electronics manufacturer Toolex Alpha/ODME (later Toolex International N.V.) as Operation Manager where he introduced operational improvement methods to decrease production costs without compromising quality and he was the lead on a number of projects.

Jan later became Operation Manager for Oerlikon Balzers in Liechtenstein before re-joining Philips Electronics.

Jan holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry from The University of Groningen.
