Amrita Dasgupta

Director, Population Health at Pomelo Care

Amrita Dasgupta has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Amrita began their career as a Program Assistant at the New York eHealth Collaborative, where they designed a reporting dashboard and monitored implementation and analyzed regional data. Amrita then worked as a Marketing Specialist, partnering with healthcare systems and community organizations to increase adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) statewide.

Amrita later interned as a Policy Research Intern at The Mount Sinai Hospital, specifically with the Mount Sinai Care Accountable Care Organization. Amrita gained valuable experience during this internship.

Following their internship, Amrita joined IHI (Institute for Healthcare Improvement) as a Project Manager, overseeing multi-million dollar programs in Ghana and Malawi to improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) outcomes. Amrita also provided technical assistance to build and launch the National Healthcare Quality Strategy in Ghana.

At IHI, they also served as a Research Associate, conducting strategic research on behavioral health emergencies, national healthcare quality strategy, and organizational change management. Amrita subsequently became a Senior Research Associate, managing evaluation and performance management systems for a diverse portfolio of healthcare quality improvement projects.

Amrita then joined the Mayor's Office for Economic Opportunity, where they served as a Senior Advisor. In this role, they launched and implemented innovative health and mental health programming, oversaw budgeting and performance management processes, and led special projects to improve service delivery and enhance the impact of citywide programs.

Amrita'smost recent position was at NYC Health + Hospitals, where they worked as the Director of Social Determinants. Amrita designed and prototyped strategies to integrate and expand access to social care in a healthcare setting. Amrita also managed food services and benefits coordination programs across multiple acute care sites, partnering with various stakeholders to improve patient care.

Amrita Dasgupta completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology & Society, Health & Development from Cornell University, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Amrita then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy & Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health between 2013 and 2015.
