Tomás F. Summers Sandoval Jr. is an academic with extensive experience in history and Chicana/o ~ Latina/o studies. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at Pomona College since January 2006, Summers Sandoval holds a joint appointment in the History Department and the Intercollegiate Department of Chicana/o ~ Latina/o Studies. Prior to this role, Summers Sandoval was an Assistant Professor, also at Pomona College, and previously held an Assistant Professor position at California State University, Monterey Bay, where Summers Sandoval was the Founding Chair of the Department of New Humanities for Social Justice. Summers Sandoval obtained a MA/PhD in United States History from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from Claremont McKenna College.
