Avery Schuyler Nunn is a seasoned science writer and photographer with a focus on environmental issues, deep sea exploration, and wildlife conservation. Currently serving as a Contributing Science Writer for National Geographic and Scientific American, as well as a Contributing Science Journalist for Smithsonian Magazine, Avery covers a range of scientific topics. Additional roles include independent reporting for Popular Science, contributing writing and photography for The Inertia, and active involvement with The Explorers Club as an Explorer. With a Master of Science in Environmental/Science Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Lafayette College, Avery also holds experience with various sustainability and conservation organizations, including The Surfrider Foundation and dip sustainable.
