Ashkan Shoamanesh

Senior Scientist, Brain Health And Stroke Program at PHRI Population Health Research Institute

Ashkan Shoamanesh is a Senior Scientist at the PHRI Population Health Research Institute, specializing in the Brain Health and Stroke Program and directing the Hemorrhagic Stroke Research Program since July 2015. Additionally, Ashkan serves as an Associate Professor of Medicine (Neurology) at McMaster University, holding the Marta and Owen Boris Chair in Stroke Research and Care, and directing the Stroke Fellowship Program since October 2014. As a Vascular/Stroke Neurologist at Hamilton Health Sciences, Ashkan has also chaired the CoHESIVE initiative since June 2017. Ashkan’s prior experience includes fellowships at Harvard Medical School and Boston University School of Medicine, as well as residency training at The University of British Columbia. Ashkan earned a Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Science from Western University.
