Barbara Seligman

Barbara Seligman has extensive experience in the field of global health and development. Barbara currently serves as the Chief Strategy & Growth Officer and Senior Vice President at Population Reference Bureau, where they are responsible for leading strategic planning efforts focused on sustainability, growth, and diversification. In this role, they analyze investment priorities, identifies future needs, and implements a roadmap for the organization's new strategic plan.

Before joining Population Reference Bureau, Seligman worked at DAI as a Principal Development Specialist/Technical Director. During their time there, they advised the executive leadership team on expanding into global health consulting, resulting in strategic acquisitions and the creation of a new global health business unit. Barbara also ensured the technical quality and financial performance of various global health and environment projects.

Prior to their role at DAI, Seligman was a Principal Associate at Abt Associates, where they provided technical and market leadership in the health systems strengthening and policy areas. Barbara managed program development and expanded the organization's portfolio of global health policy activities.

Seligman also has experience at the Center for Global Development as a Consultant, where they contributed to the design and launch of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation-funded Demographics and Development Initiative. Additionally, they served as a Policy Advisor at the USAID Office of Population and Reproductive Health, providing guidance on statutory and policy requirements affecting population and reproductive health assistance.

Early in their career, Seligman worked at Futures Group as a Policy Advisor and Senior Associate. In this role, they managed program development, led strategic planning efforts, and secured funding for youth reproductive health activities.

Barbara Seligman holds an MA degree in both Public Policy & Anthropology as well as Anthropology/Archaeology from the University of Chicago. Prior to their graduate studies, they completed their undergraduate education at Cornell University, where they earned an AB degree in History. Barbara Seligman also attended Hamden High but did not obtain a specific degree or field of study from there.
