Job Summary

The Security Engineer plays a critical role in safeguarding Porch’s digital assets and reputation against security breaches, cyber-attacks, and unauthorized access. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of Porch information systems.

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect Porch’s cloud workloads, identities, networks, and data. You will analyze potential security threats, develop strategies to mitigate risks, and respond to security incidents. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with Porch’s security policy and compliance requirements will also be part of the role.

What You Will Do As A Security Engineer

  • Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and address potential weaknesses.
  • Monitor security instrumentation for suspicious activities and investigate security alerts, findings, and incidents.
  • Design and deploy technical security controls to safeguard systems and data.
  • Stay updated on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices in the industry.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure security requirements are integrated into the development lifecycle of applications and systems.
  • Provide security awareness training to employees and promote a culture of security within the organization.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including forensics analysis and remediation.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to security policies, procedures, and incident response plans

What You Will Bring As A Security Engineer:

  • Proven experience in information security; 4+ years working as a Security Engineer or similar role.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) are desirable.
  • Technical cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are highly desired.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection solutions.
  • Knowledge of encryption techniques, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with cloud security principles and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development in the field of cybersecurity.
  • Enables the business by bringing a positive and can-do attitude to cyber security initiates.
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams 
  • Excellent written and communication skills, both English and Hindi 
  • Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap 
  • Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
