Russell Kalmoe

Russell Kalmoe has a diverse work experience in various companies and roles. Russell is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Porch Group since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Brinks Home from 2018 to 2023, where they held positions such as Senior Director of Software Development and Director of Software Development. At Brinks Home, they managed a $5M budget and created a small and agile team. Russell also worked at Wolters Kluwer as a Software Development Manager from 2016 to 2018, where they led Agile software development teams. Before that, they worked at Assurant from 2007 to 2016, starting as a Software Engineer | Team Lead and later becoming a Software Development Manager. At Assurant, they directed a dedicated team and transformed organization culture to focus on Agile methodologies. Russell started their career as a Financial Representative at Springleaf Financial Services from 2005 to 2007, where they gained experience in business development and sales.

Russell Kalmoe completed their Bachelor of Arts in Economics with minors in Computer Science, Business, and Science, Technology & Society from The University of Texas at Austin, from 2000 to 2005. Russell then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with an emphasis in Programming from Kaplan University, graduating in 2009. Russell also holds additional certifications as a SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner from Scaled Agile and as a Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance, although the dates of completion are unknown.
