Kerrick Henny

Chief Government & Public Relations Officer at Port Houston

Kerrick Henny was named Chief Government & Public Relations Officer for Port Houston in September 2020. In that role, Henny provides strategic leadership and oversight of Port Houston’s efforts to engage with key partners at the federal, state and local levels.

Mr. Henny most recently served as Principal and part of the senior leadership team at Texas Star Alliance, one of the nation’s leading lobbying firms.

During his career, he has worked with a broad range of stakeholder groups, including legislators, agency leaders and other policy makers at the local, state, and federal level.

Mr. Henny worked with state legislators in Texas as well as the Texas Attorney General’s Office. He later joined AT&T, Inc. and in 2008, he was selected to serve as the company’s Executive Director for National Public Affairs in Washington, D.C. Mr. Henny returned to Texas in 2010 as the Senior Vice President External Affairs.

Mr. Henny has served on numerous boards and is the longest-serving Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership’s Government Relations Advisory Committee to date. He is a graduate of Leadership Houston and Center for Houston’s Future.

Mr. Henny is a graduate of the University of Houston. He and his wife, Adrienne, have been married for more than 23 years and they have a son, Kristopher.

Port Houston

The Port of Houston is a 25-mile-long complex of 190-plus private and public industrial terminals along the 52-mile-long Houston Ship Channel. The eight public terminals are owned, operated, managed or leased by the Port of Houston Authority and include the general cargo terminals at the Turning Basin, Care, Jacintoport, Woodhouse, and the Barbours Cut and Bayport container terminals.
