Christopher L. Neal has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Christopher L. started their career as a Specialist in the 3d US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) from 1999 to 2005. Afterwards, they worked as a Senior Program Analyst at Northrop Grumman Corporation from 2005 to 2008. From 2008 to 2016, Christopher worked at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in various roles, including Lead Transportation Security Specialist, Deputy Assistant Federal Security Director, Assistant Federal Security Director, and Deputy Federal Security Director. In 2016, they joined the Port of Portland as the Director of Public Safety and Security, a role they held until 2020. During this time, they also served as the Director of and Sponsor – PDXNext Operations, where they successfully led a $2.1 billion project, maintained a strict budget, and implemented a comprehensive design strategy to meet the needs of different stakeholders.

Christopher L. Neal has a diverse education history. In 2000, they began their college education at Northern Virginia Community College, where they obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (A.A.S.) degree in General Studies in 2003. Christopher L. then pursued their passion for Political Science at George Mason University from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. Recently, in 2015, Christopher completed a Key Executive Leadership Certification program at American University, focusing on Executive Leadership.
