Donald Baan

Donald Baan has had extensive work experience in the maritime and logistics industry. Donald is currently serving as the Director of Business Development, Marketing & Sales at Portbase, where they manage three teams and oversees digital solution delivery to the port community. Prior to this role, they served as the Manager of Business Development at Portbase, responsible for creating data-driven propositions for the Dutch port community. Donald has also held roles at SAB Stichting Afvalstoffen & Vaardocumenten Binnenvaart as a member of the supervisory board. Before joining Portbase, they worked at the Port of Rotterdam for several years, holding positions such as Senior Business Manager, Business Lead at Rotterdam Logistics Lab, and Program Manager Inland Shipping. Throughout their career, Donald has demonstrated expertise in building partnerships, developing new initiatives, and promoting efficiency within the supply chain.

Donald Baan attended Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1995 to 2000. Donald completed a degree in Logistics & Economics at the university. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1995, they studied at Walburg College, where they obtained a VWO degree. Besides their academic education, Donald Baan also earned a certification in High Performance Leadership from de Baak in February 2022.
