Marieke also held positions at the Partnership Brokers Association as a Company Director from 2014 to 2016, at Start Network as Head of Development and Partnerships from 2013 to 2014, and at Start Network (previously CBHA) as an Advisor for Knowledge, Impact, and Collaboration from 2012 to 2013.
Earlier in their career, Marieke worked as Coordinator at the Consortium of British Humanitarian Agencies from 2010 to 2012. Marieke was responsible for coordinating a collaborative program and developing the monitoring, evaluation, and learning framework.
Marieke also worked as a Researcher at the Institute of Development Studies in 2010 and as a Programmes Assistant in Iraq & Afghanistan at War Child UK in 2009. Marieke started their career with a Research Internship at the Overseas Development Institute in 2008.

Marieke Hounjet has a diverse education background. After completing their bachelor's degree in 2007, Marieke went on to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Global Economic History at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2007 to 2008.
