Fritz Obermeyer

Fritz Obermeyer is a Principal Software Engineer at Positron AI since May 2024, specializing in accelerating large language model (LLM) inference. Previously, Fritz founded Social Cognitive Machines, creating a writing coach for Google Docs and a children's book generator utilizing generative AI. Prior experience includes serving as Principal ML Architect at Generate Biomedicines, Inc., focusing on multi-objective optimization and assay data modeling, and as a Machine Learning Fellow at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where development efforts were concentrated on the Pyro probabilistic programming language for biological applications. Additional roles include Senior Research Scientist at Uber, Associate Specialist at the University of California, Berkeley, Software Engineer at Google, Lead Predictive Scientist at salesforce.com, and Senior Software Engineer at Prior Knowledge, Inc. Fritz holds a Ph.D. in Pure and Applied Logic from Carnegie Mellon University and advanced degrees in Mathematics and Physics/Applied Math from Colorado State University.
