Bastiaan Sjardin

Bastiaan Sjardin has a diverse work experience in various industries. Starting in 2003, they served as a Bachelor/Master committee member at Leiden University. In 2007, they worked as a Research Assistant at the same university, where they conducted research on cognitive influences on visual distraction. From 2012 to 2016, Bastiaan was a Co-Founder of Quandbee, an international team of artificial intelligence practitioners. Bastiaan also worked as a Book Reviewer and Author at Packt from 2014 to 2017. In 2015, they served as a Committee Member (Innovation & Fintech) at Rabobank. In 2017, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Elsevier and then transitioned to the role of Chief Technology Officer at Future Facts. In 2018, Bastiaan became a Tech Lead and Architect in Big Data & AI at PostNL, and later took on the role of Tech Lead (Big Data and Data Science) at VGZ.

Bastiaan Sjardin has a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Sciences / Mathematics from Leiden University. Bastiaan also has completed a professional education program in Financial Management at Nyenrode Business University. In addition, they have obtained a 4 CEU certificate in Big Data from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology through on-campus professional education.
