Himani Upadhyay is a seasoned researcher with extensive experience in climate-related studies, currently serving as a lead researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since July 2018, focusing on climate-migration-conflict and adaptation linkages in the EPICC project. Prior to this, Himani worked as a research associate at Freie Universität Berlin, conducting comparative studies on disaster governance in India and Germany, and has significant experience at the Energy and Resources Institute where notable contributions included climate vulnerability assessments and consultation for national climate policy development in India. Himani is pursuing a PhD in Sociology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, building on a solid academic foundation with a Master’s in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Science.
