Mara Rodríguez Robles has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Mara is currently working at POWEN as the CIO - Director of Systems and Digital Transformation, leading three departments and reporting directly to the CEO. In this role, they oversee the IT department and leads a team of ten developers responsible for creating and improving applications across the organization's platforms.
Prior to their current position, Mara worked at EDP Renewables, where they held two roles. Mara initially joined as a Back Office Energy Management Specialist, responsible for valuation, settlement, and analysis of energy contracts and sales. Mara also automated billing processes using various tools. Mara later transitioned to the position of Central Asset Manager Associate for Operations, focusing on implementing a new Asset Management Model and providing support to Asset Managers in different countries.
Before EDP Renewables, Mara worked at OMI - Polo Español (OMIE) as an Energy Market Analysis and Testing Working Group European leader. Mara managed European projects and implemented the Multi Nemo Arrangement project, contributing to the cooperation and development of the XBID continuous market. Prior to this role, they served as an Energy and Gas Market Operator, where they operated the electricity market at the European level and worked as a data analyst.
Mara's experience also includes a role at Iberdrola as a Technical Infrastructure Evacuation Analyst, where they analyzed and monitored construction projects, assessed the feasibility of wind parks in Mexico, and developed a tool for cost estimation negotiations with suppliers.
Mara began their career at BBVA as a Web Analyst, where they gathered and analyzed user behavior data to improve the digital banking experience and support business decision-making.
Mara's early experience also includes a role at CIEMAT, where they worked on smart grid projects, including the characterization and implementation of a hydraulic pumping and turbine system and the design of photovoltaics for electric vehicle charging.
Throughout their career, Mara has gained expertise in IT management, digital transformation, asset management, energy markets, data analysis, and project management.
Mara Rodríguez Robles has pursued a comprehensive education in the field of energy. Mara completed an Expert Degree in Energy Economics Regulated Market from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in 2017. Mara also obtained a Master's degree in Renewable Energies in the Electrical System from the same university in 2016. In 2015, Mara graduated with an Engineering degree in Energy from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Additionally, they have obtained certifications such as being a member of AEMENER (Spanish Association of Women in Energy) in 2019 and a Certification for the Operation and Coordination of the Daily Electricity Market at a European level from EPEX SPOT in 2016.
