A day in the life:

  • As a Data Engineer within our technology team, your daily responsibilities center on managing and optimizing nova Cloud, our comprehensive data solution that spans data inbound, management, activation, and mobilization for Power Digital. Your role encompasses various stages, addressing a multitude of data sources and use cases across our modern data stack. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to grasp data requirements and ensure accessibility

  • Participating in agile processes, your tasks align with sprint planning, standups, and backlog management. Your continuous focus remains on optimizing data storage, retrieval, and processing to enhance scalability and performance. Ongoing priorities involve troubleshooting and maintaining data quality, all contributing to the foundation of data-driven decision-making for marketing analytics and reporting

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines
  • Develop and optimize data models using DBT to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure the availability and accessibility of data for analytics and reporting
  • Optimize data storage, retrieval, and processing for efficient and scalable data operations
  • Implement data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data engineering processes, ensuring transparency and knowledge sharing
  • Continuously monitor data pipelines and troubleshoot issues to ensure data availability and reliability
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of data warehouses and data lakes to support marketing analytics and reporting needs

Role Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, with specific expertise in SQL, DBT and data modeling
  • Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Google BigQuery) and data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions)
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
  • Experience with cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with analytics, visualization, data analysis and reporting is a plus
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities

  • Data Pipeline Efficiency: Measure the efficiency of data pipelines in terms of data processing speed and resource utilization
  • Data Quality: Monitor and maintain data quality standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Data Availability: Ensure data availability for analytics and reporting, minimizing downtime and interruptions
  • Data Storage Optimization: Optimize data storage costs while maintaining data accessibility and performance
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Track and resolve data pipeline issues promptly to minimize data-related disruptions

  • Collaborate closely with marketing teams to understand data requirements and provide timely data solutions that support their analytics needs
  • Continuously improve data engineering processes, focusing on automation and scalability to meet growing data demands
  • Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, safeguarding sensitive marketing data
