Hannibal B. Tesfahunegn has extensive work experience in various sectors. Hannibal B. started working as an Intern at Relief Society of Tigray in 2013, where they collected data to assess the implementation of Weather Insurance Index in the Tigray region. Hannibal B. then worked as a Junior Program Analyst at Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) from October 2014 to June 2016, before being promoted to Senior Analyst from July 2016 to July 2017.

In 2018, Hannibal joined Standard Microgrid as a Global Development Fellowship (GDF) Summer Intern, where they conducted in-depth analysis of large datasets to gain insights on customer behavior and operational data.

From January 2019 to May 2019, Hannibal worked as a Consultant at Power for All, undertaking a Policy Project to integrate Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) technologies with national electrification strategies in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on Uganda.

Hannibal B. then joined Catalyst Off-Grid Advisors as an Analyst from May 2019 to September 2019, before transitioning to McKinsey & Company (Africa Delivery Hub) as a Public and Social Sector (PSS) Senior Analyst in November 2019. Hannibal B. worked there until November 2021, contributing their expertise in the social and public sectors.

In March 2022, Hannibal joined Power for All again, this time as a Research Manager, where they currently hold a position.

Hannibal B. Tesfahunegn earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Economics from Mekelle University, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. Later on, they pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, Goldman School of Public Policy, attending from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, Hannibal has obtained a certification in Basic C++ programming, although specific information about the institution and the year of completion are not provided.
