Executive Vice President Meg Lusardi has over 25 years of experience in energy engineering and operations, including leadership positions in private-sector, nonprofit and public agency settings. Meg joined the PowerOptions team in 2015, bringing to the consortium’s highly successful business platform her deep understanding of the energy sector, firsthand experience with nonprofits, and track record leading on statewide energy issues. Meg oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring that PowerOptions remains responsive to customers’ evolving needs, while helping strategize growth to shape the nonprofit’s future.
After earning a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, Meg worked for nearly a decade as a project manager at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. She spent 10 years at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, advancing during that time from Analyst to Acting Commissioner. She was instrumental in the design of DOER’s Green Communities Division, a first in the nation program serving municipalities’ energy needs, and eventually led the program through a period of dramatic growth as its Director. Meg’s expertise with nonprofits stems from her work as Chief Operating Officer at Dorchester-based Project-Hope, an organization serving homeless and low-income families.
