Lead Engineer at Powerphotonic

Alex Griffiths has a diverse work experience. They began their career as an Administration Assistant at Sainsbury's from July 2012 to September 2014. They then joined the University of Strathclyde in 2014 as a Postgraduate Student, specializing in CMOS controlled, gallium nitride micro-LED arrays and single photon detectors for optical communications and imaging applications. Following their graduation in April 2018, they became a Research Associate at the University of Strathclyde, working as part of the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Quantum Enhanced Imaging (QuantIC). Their research focused on low size, weight, and power systems for CubeSats, as well as new approaches to hyperspectral and 3D imaging. In March 2020, Alex transitioned to PowerPhotonic, where they began as a Product Development Engineer and later advanced to the role of Lead Engineer in July 2022.

Alex Griffiths completed their education as follows:

- From 2014 to 2018, Alex attended the University of Strathclyde, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics.

- Between 2009 and 2014, Alex studied at The University of Edinburgh, earning a Master of Physics (MPhys) degree with a specialization in Physics.

- Alex's academic journey began at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College from 2007 to 2009, where they pursued A levels in Maths, Physics, and Computing.
