The Purpose:

The Data & Analytics team at PPRO builds an end-to-end internal consumer platform for ingestion, transformation and consumption of all the data at PPRO. Our vision is to democratise the data through a comprehensive, yet standardised self service data platform to enable the growth of the business.

We are looking for an experienced manager to lead and support a mix of engineers and data analysts and drive the development of the platform for the rest of PPRO.

What you will be doing:

  • Define and execute the product vision, roadmap, and strategy for data and analytics products and features
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify key business questions and opportunities for leveraging data to drive strategic decisions
  • Lead the development of analytics products, including data modelling, and managing the product lifecycle
  • Oversee daily operational aspects of the data analytics engineering team and coordination of the ongoing projects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide guidance, support and professional development opportunities to your team, set development goals and provide regular feedback
  • Analyse and interpret data to uncover actionable insights and make data-driven recommendations
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement and ensure quality of the delivery as well as alignment with the rest of the engineering strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product goals, priorities, and timelines.
  • Nurture and grow the analytics function across the teams
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure transparency and alignment on product initiatives

You will need to have:

  • Passion and experience leading a mixed team of data engineers and data analysts
  • Great communication skills and the ability to get teams and individuals excited about our mission and vision
  • Proficiency in crafting complex technical solutions in both SQL and Python
  • The latest trends and best practices in data warehousing, software engineering and security
  • Clarity, guidance and proficiency in terms of data modelling, transformation and aggregation using latest frameworks
  • Experience with data warehouse at scale Snowflake, BigQuery Redshift
  • Expert knowledge of the cloud provider offerings either on AWS, GCP or Azure as well as experience building infrastructure as code
  • Ability to distil complex technical data challenges and present them to non technical audiences
  • Experience in setting targets, goals and KPIs and creating an environment of accountability and ownership
