Sarah Gaal

Sarah Gaal has a wide range of experience in project management and IT roles. Sarah began their career in 2012 at Blue Shield of California as a Lead Project Manager, where they focused on ICD-10 Provider Testing, Strategic Planning, Program Management, and Network Management. After that, they worked at various companies, including Apex Systems and HealthTECH Resources, Inc., as a Senior Project Manager and Project Manager, respectively.

In 2013, Sarah joined Pacific Management as an IT Project Manager, where they managed projects related to ICD-10 and other claims, eligibility, and care systems. Sarah then moved to a role as a Project Manager at TEKsystems, where they worked on a Facets implementation project for a large vision services corporation.

In 2015, Sarah became an IT Project Manager at Tennessee Valley Authority via Modis, where they led a $5 million project to implement an enterprise shift operations and management application for power generation plants. Sarah presented the project to the senior leadership team.

Sarah joined Optum in 2016 as a Capability Manager, overseeing the same responsibilities they had at NAMM California, as both companies were now part of OptumCare CA. Sarah also participated in the Care Delivery Leadership Program in 2022.

From 2016 to 2022, Sarah worked at NAMM California as a Lead Project Manager, where they managed a large project to enhance NAMM systems for use by other Optum Care subsidiaries. Sarah was responsible for hiring project managers, analysts, and quality assurance personnel.

Finally, in 2022, Sarah joined PracticeLink as a BA/PM/Product Support/Provider Relations professional. In this role, they serve as a liaison between internal and external clients and IT teams. Sarah also works as a recordkeeper, ensuring processes are followed, and has been exposed to Python and other data analytics tools.

Sarah Gaal attended Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in General Studies. Sarah then pursued further education at Claremont Graduate University, specializing in Evaluation and Applied Research from 2020 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, Sarah also earned certifications in Project Management Professional (PMP) from the PMI-OC Project Management Institute Orange County Chapter in June 2004 and became a Certified ScrumMaster through the Scrum Alliance in October 2013.
