José (Pepe) Clavijo Michelangeli is currently the Chief Product Officer at Praedictus Climate Solutions, a role they have held since 2021. Prior to this, they were the Agriculture Research Manager - Agricultural Production and Flows and Lead Analyst - Agriculture Research at Refinitiv, an LSEG business from 2018-2021. In this role, they led the model development for current and new crops (sugar, cotton, grains and oilseeds) and geographies, as well as the analysis of US, Brazil and Paraguay corn and soybean production. From 2016-2018, they were a Senior Analyst at Thomson Reuters, where they led the forecast of US, Brazil and Paraguay corn and soybean production, and lead or collaborated on the development of their modeling pipeline for other crops. From 2015-2016, they were a Postdoctoral Scholar at North Carolina State University, where they researched the effects of sowing density and temperature on legume growth and development, mentored PhD students working on legume modeling, and conducted research on maize seed counterfeiting in western Kenya. From 2010-2015, they were a Graduate Research Assistant (PhD) at the University of Florida, where they led the experimental design, management, and analysis of phenotypic data collected from field sites in Florida, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, and Colombia as part of an NSF-funded project. In 2013, they were a Student Mentor at Engineers Without Borders USA: (University of Florida). From 2010-2011, they were a Research Coordinator (NE Region) - NEOMAPAS project at Instituto Venezolano de Investigaciones Científicas (IVIC). From 2008-2010, they were a Graduate Research Assistant (MSc.) at the University of Florida, where they evaluated harvest practices of Tifton-85 bermudagrass, and developed a linear program to help producers choose cost-efficient bermudagrass harvest options and feedstuffs for dairy cow rations. From 2003-2002, they were a Tour Leader at Birding Venezuela, and a Teaching Assistant - Statistics at Universidad Central de Venezuela.

José (Pepe) Clavijo Michelangeli began their educational journey in 2000 at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Agronomy and Crop Science in 2006. José (Pepe) then continued their studies at the University of Florida, where they obtained a Master's degree in Agronomy (Forage Management) in 2009 and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) (Minor: Applied Statistics) in 2014.
