Umesh Ponnan

Umesh Ponnan has a diverse work experience spanning various HR roles and responsibilities. Umesh is currently the Head of HR at Pramata since June 2022. Prior to that, Umesh worked at Thomson Reuters from 2016 to 2022, serving as a Senior HR Manager and HRBP Lead for Reuters's Strategic Centres. Umesh also acted as HRBP Lead for Reuters's Bangalore & Poland Bureau and provided HR support for Integration Point teams in Vadodara.

Before Thomson Reuters, Umesh worked at Infosys from 2011 to 2016. Umesh held positions such as Sr Lead - BPHR and Lead - BPHR, where they handled multiple responsibilities including performance management, talent management, employee engagement, and employee relations.

Umesh also gained experience at CDC Software as an HR Generalist, at RASR Entertainment Ltd as a part-time Marketing Executive, and at Spheris India Pvt Ltd/Cbay Systems as an Executive in HR. Additionally, their early career includes working at AES Technologies India Pvt Ltd as an Executive in HR, where they built the entire HR organization and implemented various HR policies.

Throughout their career, Umesh demonstrated expertise in areas such as recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, change management, and stakeholder management. Umesh has also been involved in initiatives related to diversity and inclusion, learning and development, and employee wellness.

Umesh Ponnan obtained a B Sc degree in Computer Science from Rathinam College of Arts and Science between 2001 and 2004. From 2004 to 2006, they pursued an MBA in HR & Marketing at SNMV College of Arts and Science. In 2010 and 2011, Umesh attended London Metropolitan University, where they obtained an MA in IHRM (International Human Resource Management). In addition to their formal education, Umesh has obtained certifications in Coaching Foundation from Coacharya in March 2022 and in "Out and Proud: Approaching LGBT Issues in the Workplace" from LinkedIn in July 2021.
