Erik Jones, CISSP CCSFP

Erik Jones has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Erik started their career in 1992 as an Operations Specialist at Synon. Subsequently, they worked as a Web developer and Unix Administrator at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2001, they served as a Senior Engineer and Project Lead at DML Associates Inc, where they led a $1 million custom ASP Web application project. Jones then worked as a Post Graduate Researcher at the University of California, Davis from 2001 to 2002, where they published and presented a paper on UAV-based sensor networks.

In 2002, Jones joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as an Electrical Engineer, Project Lead, and Consultant. Erik successfully managed a $1.2 million hyperspectrometer engineering program and worked closely with the government sponsor. From 2005 to the present, Jones has been the CEO of Jacobian Engineering Inc., an information security company providing compliance management and security assessment services.

In 2007, Jones became the Vice President of Engineering & Operations at Inflection, where they played a crucial role in the company's growth and profitability. Erik led the creation of their e-commerce and marketing platform, and in 2012, Inflection sold its family history business for $100 million to Ancestry.

Additionally, Jones has held advisory roles in various companies. Erik served as the Chief Solutions Architect at PreciseQ from 2012 to the present, where they were responsible for client relations and product architecture. Currently, they are also the Managing Member of Jones Family Farm and Ranch LLC, a role they took on in 2021.

In the future, Jones plans to expand their experience in the field of firefighting and emergency medical services, as they will become a Volunteer Firefighter EMT at Lockwood Fire Protection District starting in 2023. Erik Jones has a diverse educational background. In 1999, they began their undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. Erik completed their undergraduate education in 2001.

Following their undergraduate studies, Erik decided to further expand their knowledge and pursued a degree in Computer Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 1996 to 1998. Although they did not obtain a degree from this institution, it contributed to their understanding of the field.

Erik's educational journey took another turn when they enrolled in Concord Law School at Purdue University Global in 2018. Erik embarked on a Doctor of Law program and specialized in the field of Law. Erik completed their Juris Doctor degree in 2022.

In 2020, Erik continued to enhance their expertise by pursuing a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering at Syracuse University. Erik successfully finished this program in 2021.

Additionally, Erik has obtained several certifications to supplement their education. In 2015, they became a Certified Information Systems Security Professional through (ISC)². In 2016, they obtained the Certified CSF Practitioner certification from HITRUST Alliance LLC. Erik has also acquired two certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect - Professional in 2016 and the Amazon Web Services Security Specialty in 2020.

Recently, Erik has shown an interest in the field of Clinical Nutrition/Nutritionist. Erik enrolled in the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2022 to pursue this field of study. Currently, there is no information regarding the expected completion date for this program.

Furthermore, Erik has obtained additional certifications as recently as 2023 - the Nutrition and Healthy Living certification from Cornell University and the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification from Mountain-Valley EMS Agency.
