Afnan Osman

Community Project Manager at Preemptive Love Coalition

Afnan was born in Saudi Arabia after her parents fled the civil war in Somalia. When she was 7, they moved to Syria and spent an incredible decade in Damascus. In 2008, Afnan and her family relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana as refugees. She has always been passionate about working for and with refugees and displaced people and volunteered with the same organization that took care of her family. Afnan attended Indiana University and received her bachelor’s in International Studies with a concentration in Human Rights and International Law. In the summer of 2019, Afnan interned with Preemptive Love as an English instructor. While at Indiana University, Afnan taught Arabic for three years and served as co-host for IU’s Preemptive Love chapter. Afnan wants to help change the ideas that lead to war globally.
