Christopher P. Taft

Christopher P. Taft is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors for Preferred Mutual Insurance Company.

Chris began his career at Preferred Mutual in January 1995 as Vice President of Financial Services. Prior to accepting the position, Chris was a Senior Manager at the International Accounting Firm of Coopers & Lybrand. In 2006, Chris was promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer and in 2009 to President and Chief Executive Officer.

Chris graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clarkson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor and licensed CPA. Chris currently serves on the Board of Directors for Preferred Mutual Insurance Company; the NBT Bank, N.A. Advisory Board, the New York Insurance Association, Inc. (NYIA) Foundation Board of Trustees, and the Advisory Committee and Risk Management Curriculum for Utica College.

Chris recently completed ten years of service to the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) as a member of its Board of Directors and for five years as both Secretary and Treasurer.
