Head Injury Research Fellow at Premier League

Dominic Townsend has a diverse work experience in the healthcare and sports industry. Dominic currently serves as a Head Injury Research Fellow at The Premier League since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Neurosurgery Specialty Trainee and Trauma & Orthopaedics Clinical Fellow at University Hospital Southampton NHS FT in 2020. Dominic also worked as a Neurosurgery Clinical Fellow at Barts Health NHS Trust from 2019 to 2020. In addition, they gained experience as a ST1 Ophthalmology Trainee at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust from 2018 to 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Healthcare Assistant at Royal Surrey County Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust in 2011. Dominic also held various roles related to sports, including Performance Sport Mentor at Loughborough University and Strength and Conditioning Intern at the English Institute of Sport. Dominic had a short medical placement as a Sport Scientist at Chelsea Football Club.
