Javad Khaghani has a diverse work experience in the fields of computer vision, machine learning, and robotics. From 2022 to present, they have been working as a Machine Learning Scientist at Prenuvo. Prior to this, they were a Computer Vision Developer at Fourien from 2021 to 2022, partially supported by the Technology Alberta First Job program. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the Vision and Learning Lab of the University of Alberta, where they worked on visual object tracking using deep neural networks and published in BMVC'21. From 2016 to 2019, they were an Undergraduate Researcher at the Cognitive Systems Lab of the University of Tehran. Additionally, they collaborated with a team of mechanical engineers to design a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) and participated in the Third National Maritime Festival (Iran Darya). Javad also held free workshops on the Internet of Things for the students enrolled in the "Logic Circuits" course, and recorded a complete Arduino course for the e-Learning center of the University of Tehran.
Javad Khaghani obtained a Bachelor's degree in ECE, Control System from the University of Tehran between 2014 and 2019. Prior to that, they attended Sadat Highschool between 2010 and 2014, studying Mathematics and Physics. In 2021, they completed a Master of Science in ECE, Signal and Image Processing from the University of Alberta. In addition, they obtained two certifications in 2021: the Technology SME Professional Development Series for Young Professionals from Technology Alberta and the Graduate Teaching and Learning Program (Level 1) from the University of Alberta.
