Tung Nguyen

Tung Nguyen, PharmD, BCSCP has extensive work experience in the field of pharmacy. Tung is currently working as the Director of Pharmacy at PIH Health, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital as an Acute Care Pharmacist from August 2018 to December 2023. Tung also had a role at Adventist Health, where they served as a Pharmacy Manager from August 2020 to June 2023, as well as a Clinical Pharmacist from July 2018 to August 2020. Tung began their career at Adventist Health as a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Resident from June 2017 to July 2018. Before that, Tung gained experience as a Clinical Contractor at Antidote.me from November 2016 to April 2017. Tung began their pharmacy career at CVS Health, where they worked as a Pharmacy Intern from August 2013 to April 2017. Tung also worked as a Lead Pharmacy Technician from June 2011 to August 2013 and as a Pharmacy Technician from May 2008 to June 2011. Additionally, Tung has gained research experience as a Research Intern at the UCSD Biochemistry Laboratory from February 2011 to February 2012 and at the UCSD Health Services Research Center from May 2009 to September 2010.

Tung Nguyen, PharmD, BCSCP, completed their Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from Manchester University from 2013 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, International Studies from UC San Diego between 2006 and 2011. Tung has additional certifications, such as being a Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist from the BPS - Board of Pharmacy Specialties since 2022, and being a Registered Pharmacist from the California Board of Pharmacy since December 2017. Tung has also obtained certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Medication Therapy Management, Six Sigma White Belt, Pharmacists and Patient-Centered Diabetes Care, and Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery.
