Ian Whytock

Ian Whytock is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Tidal Venture Partners, a pre-seed to seed + fund focused on the emerging ecosystem of Atlantic Canada. Ian is also a Board Director/Investor/Seed Round Lead at TheProgram.ai and Bright Breaks, a Board Observer/Investor/Pre-Seed Round Lead at Pressto, a Graduate of Cohort 4 at VC Lab, a Manager at Barrington Edge, a Consultant in Residence at Dalhousie Emera ideaHUB, a Chief Strategy Officer at Cove Drinks, a Director and Research Analyst at Confidion, and an Executive Director, Canada at Asoko Insight. Ian has been involved in a variety of roles since 2015, including developing commercialization and scale-up strategies, assisting with partnership development and growth strategies, advising on product and brand development, refining and testing open source analysis methodology, authoring a market segment strategic plan, and providing clients with actionable insights.

Ian Whytock holds a Master's degree from Stellenbosch University, a Bachelor of Arts Honours cum laude from Stellenbosch University, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of King's College in Classics, and a Bachelor's Degree from Dalhousie University in Arts and Social Sciences.
