Martin Ashby

Martin Ashby has had a diverse and extensive work experience in various industries. Martin began their career as the Managing Director at Truproof Limited, where they successfully turned around the company and restored profitability. Martin then worked as the General Manager of Sourcing Operations at Umbro, where they implemented new processes and oversaw garment and raw material sourcing.

Following this, Ashby joined Shop Direct as the Sourcing Executive, responsible for implementing sourcing and quality strategies, as well as managing a major change program. Martin later served as the Strategic Planning Director and Trading Director at Shop Direct, where they investigated the viability of launching a new retail brand and achieved budgeted sales and margin for various product ranges.

Ashby further advanced their career at Nimans, where they held the positions of Purchasing Director and Sales and Purchasing Director. Martin was responsible for product strategy, stock management, supplier relationships, and played a key role in the acquisition of a major competitor.

In 2010, they joined Findel Education as the Buying and Merchandising Director, responsible for product buying and budgeted sales and margin. Martin then became the Managing Director at Ghekko Group, before moving on to Smartlifeinc Ltd. In their role as the COO, they delivered a working product that surpassed competitors' capabilities. Martin was subsequently promoted to CEO, overseeing the design, testing, and production of wearable technology products.

Martin'smost recent position is at Prevayl, where they serve as the Chief Innovation Officer. In this role, they are responsible for product strategy, coordinating product teams, and developing research partnerships to enhance in-house capabilities.

Martin Ashby completed their Master of Business Administration with Distinction from Alliance Manchester Business School from 1990 to 1992. Prior to that, from 1984 to 1987, they pursued their Chemical Engineering Bsc(Hons) degree at Loughborough University, achieving a 2:1 classification.
