Islam Abdelal began their education at St. Peter's Preparatory School, although the specific years are unknown. After completing their preparatory education, Abdelal attended Brown University from 1996 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics. Following this, they pursued a degree in Law at Durham University from 2003 to 2005, obtaining an LLB.
Abdelal also achieved additional certifications throughout their career. In September 2008, they became a Qualified Solicitor through the Law Society of England and Wales. Later, in April 2016, Abdelal obtained the designation of Member Attorney from the State Bar of California.
