Michael Laperche

VP, Risk Management at PRIDE Industries, Inc.

Michael is responsible for managing uncertainty in PRIDE Industries’ operations nationwide. His team effectively minimizes downside outcomes and enables upside opportunities across multiple lines of business and corporate functions. To further support this goal, Michael led the formation of Social Enterprise Assurance Co, LLC (SEAssure), a captive insurance company operated by and for PRIDE Industries. SEAssure gives PRIDE Industries added resilience in new contracts and creates greater flexibility to support the organization’s continued growth.

Michael has nearly 30 years of diversified risk management experience in a variety of industries, including nonprofit, construction, government, and information technology. Before joining PRIDE Industries, he was Risk Manager for the City of Tampa, Florida, and was responsible for planning, procurement, and administration of the city’s safety, benefits, and insurance programs, as well as litigation and claims management. Previous experience includes leadership positions at Nielsen and Vogel Bros. Building Co., The Salvation Army, and the Florida Department of Labor.

Michael earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Rhode Island College and an MBA from the University of South Florida. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and RIMS Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP). He also holds an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) credential. Michael is president of the Sacramento Valley Chapter of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and serves RIMS on the National External Affairs Committee.
