Senior Scientist II at Prime Medicine

Xichun Zhang has extensive work experience in the field of biomedical research. xichun began their career as a Research Fellow/Instructor at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in 2005, where they focused on studying the mechanisms of botulinum neurotoxin type A on chronic migraine treatment and the link between cortical spreading depression and migraine headache. In 2016, Xichun joined Decibel Therapeutics as a Scientist/Senior Scientist/Consultant. In this role, they supervised and trained team members, managed in vivo research work, and designed and executed in vivo pharmacology studies. Xichun also played a key role in establishing a gene therapy platform and exploring new strategies for test article delivery. In 2022, they joined Prime Medicine, Inc. as a Senior Scientist II. Xichun Zhang completed a Master's degree in public health toxicology from the School of Public Health, Nanjing Medical University, from 1999 to 2002. Following that, from 2002 to 2005, Zhang pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Neurobiology/pain from Fudan University.
