Sally Barber current serves as the Special Advisor to the EVP for Health Affairs and Director of State and Federal Relations, UVA Health System. She has worked at the University of Virginia since January 2000. She serves as counselor and advisor to the EVP for Health Affairs and senior leadership of the Health System, and her duties include oversight of legal matters within the Health System, management of state and federal governmental relations for the Health System, and preparation for and coordination of Health System board meetings. Prior to returning to Charlottesville to work at UVA, she was a partner in private practice with the law firm of Parker, Poe in Charlotte, North Carolina, where her area of expertise was in health care law and transactions. Barber is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, South Carolina and the University of Virginia Law School in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Barber is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, and the Virginia Bar Association and a past member of the North Carolina Bar Association. She has served on numerous committees while at UVA and is a recipient of the University’s Equal Opportunity Programs Champion Award and a member of the Raven Society.
