Phil Phillips

Phil Phillips has over a decade of experience in various roles related to engineering, DevOps, and management. Phil currently serves as a Principal Engineer at ProductPlan, where they have been working since 2019. Prior to this, they held the position of Engineering Manager, Platform at the same company. In this role, they implemented a CI/CD pipeline, transitioned to trunk-based development, and implemented feature flag tooling.

Before joining ProductPlan, Phil was a DevOps Architect at Unanimous AI from 2018 to 2019. Phil was responsible for feature development and platform maintenance/optimization, achieving significant cost reductions while maintaining performance and availability.

From 2016 to 2018, Phil worked at Experts Exchange as the Director of DevOps and Engineering, managing teams responsible for designing and maintaining various applications on AWS. Phil also served as a DevOps Manager and Full Stack Developer at the same company, where they spearheaded the migration to AWS, transitioned teams to Agile methodology, and created fault-tolerant infrastructure.

Additionally, Phil worked at ViaSat as a Senior Project from 2009 to 2009, and at Oracle as a Web Development Intern from 2008 to 2009. Phil started their career as a Technical Consultant at JustPressPlay.net from 2007 to 2008.

Phil Phillips completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, from 2005 to 2009. In 2015, they also obtained the certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services.
