Arianne Papa

Arianne Papa, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of medicine, research, teaching, and science writing. Arianne began their career as a Simons Summer Research Fellow at Stony Brook University in 2011, followed by a Summer Research Internship at Stony Brook University in 2013. Arianne then worked as a Summer Intern at The New York Stem Cell Foundation in 2015, where they focused on stem cell differentiation protocols. Arianne also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University, working on vascular stem cell biology for tissue repair and regeneration, and later became a Co-Founder and Course Instructor, teaching a winter session course in a wet lab setting.

In 2016, Arianne joined Columbia University in the City of New York as a PhD Candidate. Arianne conducted research in the lab of Steven Marx, MD, studying the mechanism of beta adrenergic regulation of cardiac calcium channels and assessing cardiac function in vivo. Arianne also gained experience in science writing as a Science Writing Associate at The New York Academy of Sciences from 2020 to 2021.

In 2019, Arianne worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, specifically focusing on organizing discussion sections on drug development and pathway to market. Arianne then joined Columbia Technology Ventures in 2020, where they served as an Associate QC Fellow and later as a CTV Fellow, gaining experience in technology assessments, marketing, management, and licensing research.

Currently, Arianne holds the position of Associate Medical Director at ProHealth | An IPG Health Company, starting in 2022, and will soon transition to the role of Medical Director in 2023.

Arianne Papa, Ph.D., completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Physiology and Cellular Biophysics from Columbia University (2016-2022). Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University (2012-2016). Arianne's education journey also includes a High School Diploma from Long Beach High School (2008-2012).
