Johanna Hämäläinen has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 2001, they worked as a Finance Specialist and later as a Customer Service Manager at Vaasan Osuuspankki until 2007. Johanna then joined Pohjola as a Customer Service Manager for a short period of time in 2007-2008.
From 2008 to 2011, they worked as an HR Specialist at Citec Engineering Oy Ab, where they provided support to line managers on various HR topics and led occupational healthcare cooperation. During this time, they also implemented a new HR tool globally.
In 2011, Johanna transitioned into a role as an HR Manager and HR business partner at CITEC OY AB. Here, they led HR functions, including payroll and internal HR communications activities, according to the global HR strategy and business needs. Johanna was also responsible for HR matters in Citec UK, focusing on developing leadership and well-being practices, as well as identifying critical business capabilities.
In 2016, Johanna joined Elo Mutual Pension Insurance Company as a Development Manager. In this role, they supported the company's customer organizations in work productivity, personnel risk management, and well-being by coaching and consulting on HR practices. Johanna also played a pivotal role in developing people risk management learning and service portfolio along with tools and processes to provide qualitative support to customer organizations.
From 2019 to 2020, Johanna served as an HRD Manager at Wärtsilä Finland Oy. Johanna led the local Learning and Talent Development team to ensure effective people development portfolio aligned with business needs. Johanna worked closely with business leaders and line managers to support them in people development matters, leadership skills, change management, and coaching. Additionally, they led the People Stream in the Smart Technology Hub change program and had overall responsibility for building strategic local employer branding.
Continuing their career at Wärtsilä, from 2020 to 2022, Johanna served as a Talent Development Lead for Marine Systems. Their main responsibilities included translating business strategies into concrete people development actions, developing and leading learning and development programs, and implementing strategic talent development portfolios for workforce retention, talent management, succession planning, change management support, coaching, and mentoring.
Currently, Johanna is working at Prohoc as the Chief Human Resources Officer, starting in 2022. In this position, they translate the business strategy into tangible people strategy and actions. Johanna collaborates closely with business leaders to ensure alignment between strategic business and people plans. Focusing on building exceptional employee experiences, they ensure the smooth running of corporate HR functions, efficient and scalable processes and services, and the establishment of effective leadership routines and practices.
Johanna Hämäläinen possesses a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, with a specialization in Business Law and Management, and Organization (HR), earned from the University of Vaasa. No specific start or end dates were provided for their education.
