Dr. David Schmelzeisen

Dr. David Schmelzeisen has a diverse work experience. Dr. David is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Project EADEN, where they combine technology and a passion for food to create guilt-free pleasures. Prior to this, they co-founded Upper Hand, a company focused on innovation and the development of products using the latest technologies.

Dr. David also worked as a Research Assistant at RWTH Aachen University, where they contributed to various projects from February 2013 to April 2015. Dr. Schmelzeisen also held the position of Technical Consultant at Digital Capability Center Aachen, leading projects in fashion retail and textile production across different continents.

In addition, they were a Founding Member of the Smart Textronics Center from April 2016 to June 2020, and served as a scientific employee at the Institut für Textiltechnik der RWTH Aachen University from March 2015 to December 2021. Dr. David Schmelzeisen's career showcases their expertise in technology, textiles, and innovation, along with their international experience and leadership skills.

Dr. David Schmelzeisen completed their education in various institutions and fields of study. In 2012, they attended ETH Zürich, where they studied Elektrotechnik und Elektronik. Then, from 2013 to 2015, they pursued their Master's degree in Maschinenbau (Textiltechnik) at RWTH Aachen University. Dr. Schmelzeisen continued their education at RWTH Aachen University, where they obtained a research stay at Seoul National University in 2017, specializing in Textilwissenschaften und -technik. Eventually, in 2019, they successfully obtained a doctorate degree, Dr.-Ing., in Maschinenbau Textil from RWTH Aachen University.
