Yossef Gofer

Chief Scientist Officer at Helios

Yossef Gofer's work experience begins in 1997 when they joined Johns Hopkins University as a Post Doc. Yossef then transitioned to Bar Ilan University, where they held various roles, including Alternative Fuels Program Scientific Coordinator, Rechargeable Magnesium Battery Research Group member, and Electrochemistry, Chemical Analysis, and Energy researcher. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Chief Scientist Officer at Helios, working on the Project-Helios, focused on In-Situ Resource Utilization in space, specifically the production of oxygen, iron, silicon, and other construction materials on the moon. Yossef is responsible for the development of environmentally conscious production methods for these materials.

Yossef Gofer obtained their PhD in Electrochemistry from Bar-Ilan University between 1994 and 1997. Following that, they pursued a Post Doctorate in Electrochemistry and Surface Spectroscopy at Case Western Reserve University from 1995 to 1996. Additionally, in the early years of their education, Yossef attended Meged, Mamlachti Aleph from 1970 to 1975, though no degree or field of study was specified.
