Syed Mahboobe Helal

Syed Mahboobe Helal is an experienced finance professional with a strong background in financial analysis, contract management, and compliance within the development sector. Currently serving as Finance Manager for Emergency Response at Project HOPE since November 2022, Syed has previously held significant roles at CARE Canada, including Manager of Financial Analysis and Finance Officer, where responsibilities included leading contract development, risk management, donor reporting, and staff management. Syed's earlier experience includes consulting work with Care International in Zambia, and serving as Senior Financial Advisor at World University Service of Canada, where financial data management for multiple country offices was a key focus. With a Master’s degree in Accounting from Dhaka University, Syed has developed expertise in financial reporting, cash flow management, and auditing throughout a career that began at CARE Bangladesh in 1998.
