María Carolina Latorre has a diverse work experience ranging from digital communications to project management. María Carolina has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Web editor - Intern at Cymetria Group. In 2009, they also served as a Digital Communications Analyst at Bogota International Center for Business and Exhibitions – Corferias. Starting in 2012, they worked as a Communications Lead at the Colombian National Federation of Oil Palm Growers – Fedepalma. María Carolina then joined MCI Group in 2015 as a Project Manager Sr - PMI Latin America until 2021. Currently, since 2021, they are the Regional Academic, Youth, and Social Impact Lead at Project Management Institute. Additionally, in 2023, they took on the role of Head of Community - Latam at the same company.

María Carolina Latorre's education history includes a Master's Degree in Human Development from Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales in Argentina, which they pursued from 2017 to 2020. In 2014, they completed a program in Crisis Management and Online Reputation at Universidad de La Sabana. Additionally, in 2013, María Carolina Latorre attended Universidad de Los Andes for a course on New Languages of Contemporary Art. Their undergraduate studies were undertaken at Universidad Santo Tomás, where they earned a Social Communication Degree, studying from 2005 to 2010.

In terms of additional certifications, María Carolina Latorre has obtained the Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) certification from the Project Management Institute in April 2021.
