Andrew Pearson

Medical Director, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Project Renewal

Andrew Pearson is the Medical Director of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Project Renewal. Previously, they served as the Director of the Mental Health Department at Covenant House New York from 2014 to 2020, where they oversaw all clinical and administrative aspects of the department's development. Andrew has also worked as the Director of Pediatric Consultation-Liaison Psychiatric Service at Mount Sinai Health System and as a Medical Resident at The Mount Sinai Hospital.

Dr. Pearson is a psychiatric specialist who has devoted their career to helping some of the most vulnerable populations in society. Andrew has extensive experience working with homeless youth, and has been a leading voice in advocating for better mental health care provision for this population. Andrew has also been at the forefront of efforts to combat human trafficking, co-leading the creation of the first Anti-Human Trafficking team for sexually exploited youth at Covenant House New York.

Throughout their career, Dr. Pearson has presented at national conferences on diverse topics related to mental health care. Their work has helped to improve the lives of countless individuals, and they continue to be a leading voice in the fight against mental illness and inequality.

Andrew Pearson attended Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine, where they received their Doctor of Medicine (MD). Andrew then went on to earn their Master of Public Health (MPH) from Temple University College of Public Health. Their MPH thesis was a qualitative, ethnographic study of communication styles among homeless teens. Lastly, they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Creative Writing from Dartmouth College.
