Kenneth Um Jr. is an accomplished individual with a strong background in biology and practical experience in various research and service roles. Currently serving as Chapter Leader at Project Sunshine and a Student Intern at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services since July 2020 and June 2020 respectively, Kenneth has also volunteered with CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort) since May 2020. Previous experience includes a Student Intern position at Occidental College's Vantuna Research Group, where responsibilities involved assisting with marine biology research and lab maintenance. Additionally, Kenneth contributed to environmental journalism as a Beat Writer for The Korea Times, covering environmental issues from August 2015 to February 2019, and gained research experience as a Summer Research Intern at Pasadena Bio Collaborative Incubator in 2018. Kenneth earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2023 after completing high school at Flintridge Preparatory School in 2019.
